How to make Halloween porch kitties out of 2 x 4's

So, have you seen those cute black Halloween porch cats? I have and I knew I could make them myself.  Here is how I did it: First, I found some scrap 2 x 4's in my garage

I cut them to size so that I could make 3 different size cats. I did 8, 10 and 12 inches.

After cutting them, I took my handy square and marked the diagonal on both sides of the 2 x 4.

I then cut at a 45 degree angle on my chop saw on both sides of the board so that there is only a small piece to cut out with the jigsaw.

Now we are ready for paint. I had some Wise Owl One Hour Enamel in Jet Black open so decided to use that so that the cats could be out on the porch. Also, there is topcoat built in to the One Hour Enamel so it was time saving too!

I let my cats dry and then proceeded to give them eyes...googly eye at that!

Now for the bows. I just used natural jute cord to make bows and unraveled the ends for a cute effect.

Cute, right! Well, I was not satisfied so I went down to the Hobby Lobby and got some feathers so that I could make mine a Maine Coon Cat! As you might guess, my shop cat Hemi is a 6 toed Maine Coon. I think it turned out so cute.
